چکیده

The effects of palladium addition and the reduction methods on Au/TiO2 were investigated. Pd was loaded on TiO2 firstly by incipient-wetness impregnation, Au was then loaded by deposition-precipitation method. The nominal loadings of Au and Pd were 1 wt% and 0.01 wt%. The bimetallic catalysts were reduced by heating at 453 K, by flowing H2 at 423 K, or by NaBH4 at 298 K. The catalysts were characterized by ICP, XRD, TEM, HRTEM, TPR and XPS. Hydrogenation of p-chloronitrobenzene was carried out at 1.2 MPa H2 pressure and 353 K. The results showed that even adding very small amount of Pd could enhance activity and selectivity of p-chloroaniline significantly. Pd and Au formed alloy and Pd could donate partial electron to Au. Pd metal on the surface of alloy could adsorb hydrogen and enhanced the activity. The pretreatment methods did not change particle size significantly, all were below 4 nm. The sample reduced by NaBH4 could have higher concentration of Au and sustain small Au particle size, resulting in high activity.

Gas phase selective hydrogenation over oxide supported Ni-Au.

The chemoselective continuous gas phase (T = 573 K; P = 1 atm) hydrogenation of nitroarenes (p-chloronitrobenzene (p-CNB) and m-dinitrobenzene (m-DNB)) has been investigated over a series of oxide (Al2O3 and TiO2) supported Au and Ni-Au (1 : 10 mol ratio; 0.1-1 mol% Au) catalysts. Monometallic supported Au with mean particle size 3-9 nm promoted exclusive formation of p-chloroaniline (p-CAN) an...

Pd-on-Si catalysts prepared via galvanic displacement for the selective hydrogenation of para-chloronitrobenzene.

The direct redox reaction (galvanic displacement) between Pd(2+) and substrate Si was used to deposit Pd on Si, and the Pd-Si catalysts enabled a chemoselective hydrogenation of para-chloronitrobenzene with the selectivity for para-chloroaniline higher than 99.9% at complete conversion of para-chloronitrobenzene.

In-Situ Liquid Hydrogenation of m-Chloronitrobenzene over Fe-Modified Pt/Carbon Nanotubes Catalysts

In-situ liquid-phase hydrogenation of m-chloronitrobenzene (m-CNB) based on aqueous-phase reforming (APR) of ethanol and catalytic hydrogenation was carried out over Fe-modified Pt/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) catalysts. The effects of Pt loading over CNTs and Fe modification on the catalytic performance of Pt/CNTs catalysts were studied. In-tube loading of Pt particles, compared with out-tube loadi...

Superior Stability of Au/SiO2 Compared to Au/TiO2 Catalysts for the Selective Hydrogenation of Butadiene

Supported gold nanoparticles are highly selective catalysts for a range of both liquid-phase and gas-phase hydrogenation reactions. However, little is known about their stability during gas-phase catalysis and the influence of the support thereon. We report on the activity, selectivity, and stability of 2-4 nm Au nanoparticulate catalysts, supported on either TiO2 or SiO2, for the hydrogenation...

Hydrogenation of Lactic Acid to 1,2‐Propanediol over Ru‐Based Catalysts

The catalytic hydrogenation of lactic acid to 1,2-propanediol with supported Ru catalysts in water was investigated. The influence of catalyst support (activated carbon, γ-Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2, and CeO2) and promoters (Pd, Au, Mo, Re, Sn) on the catalytic performance was evaluated. Catalytic tests revealed that TiO2 yields the best Ru catalysts. With a monometallic Ru/TiO2 catalyst, a 1,2-propaned...
